These album CD covers all belong to a band called 'A Tribe Called Quest'. They all have bright colours in common and the titles of the albums are clearly stated across the front of each one. The first album cover is perhaps the most colourful and generic to their genre, which is hip hop/alternative/jazz. This band think of themselves as 'cultured' and this is shown through the font of the first album cover; where it says "People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths Of Rhythm" the font is made to look somewhat African however that is subtley contradicted with the drawings of the brightly coloured buildings which borders the title.
The second album CD cover "Beats, Rhymes and Life" is more generic to the hip hop genre. The font is very urban and along with the picture it connotes more of a city kind of genre unlike the first and last images. Again, the CD cover is very colourful and is much more busy than the others. This cover isn't anything like I would use for my CD cover as it is not generic to my genre. However I really like the idea of the bright colours.
The third album CD cover is my favourite out of these three. It has more of a cultural theme as the person in the centre looks like an African art piece. The font is affective for this theme howvever for my genre it will look unprofessional and out of place. Yet again, they have used bright colours to catch the audiences/viewers attention if it were in a music shop. I really like the idea of having lots of the same faces in the background I think this works really well and the use of the large headphones is affective and generic. Overall I think that all of these album covers are affective for their genre and the busy-ness of them make them more sentimental.
