Storyboards

My storyboard does not completely correlate with my music video; this is down to trial and error of the different shots, as I drew these storyboards before I had begun editing my video. This is because of problems with synchronisation or I was not happy with the shots or the continuation of the shots.

Shot 1 – Sunlight
Shot 2 – Laurence (the artist) beginning song – sitting on a bridge. I used this shot because this was the first location where we filmed.
Shot 3 – Extreme close up of Laurence.
Shot 4 – Skateboard. I chose to use this shot because I wanted to relate to the demographic audience.
Shot 5 – Laurence sitting on hay bails. Idyllic scenery of the late summer.
Shot 6 - Silhouette shot of Laurence playing with devil sticks. Medium shot.
Shot 7 – Medium shot of Laurence walking away from the camera playing his guitar.
Shot 8 - Extreme long shot of Laurence walking towards the camera.
Shot 9 – Laurence standing at Buxton mill – references to nature because of the audience I am trying to achieve. Long shot.
Shot 10 - Extreme close up of Laurence.
Shot 11 – Long shot of Laurence playing with devil sticks.
Shot 12 – Medium shot “ “.
Shot 13 – Close up shot “ “.
Shot 14 – Long shot of Laurence standing on hay bails.
Shot 15 – Long shot of Laurence standing at Buxton Mill.
Shot 16 – Return to another shot of Laurence sitting on the bridge at our first location stop.
Shot 17 – High angle shot of Laurence standing.
Shot 18 – Long shot of Laurence standing in the sea with his guitar.
Shot 19 – Laurence running away from the camera, running down from the sand dunes and towards the sea.
Shot 20 – Cross dissolve into a medium shot of Laurence playing his guitar – an intimate shot, so that the potential audience can feel somewhat a relationship.
Shot 21 – High angle shot of Laurence standing on hay bails – including the hay bails into the frame shot gives another reference to nature.
Shot 22 – Cross dissolve into a spinning medium shot of Laurence playing his guitar. Showing the summer landscape and the sand dunes in the background.
Shot 23 – Skateboard on a half pipe. Again a relation to the demographic audience.
Shot 24 – Ending with a slow motion, silhouette figure of Laurence playing with devil sticks. Medium shot.

Music Fades. Picture fades.

  1. Thanks Elodie for posting your story boards. Now you need to evaluate your locations, specifically how they add to the appeal of your music video (in other words strengthen the marketing of your artist); also reference media texts that utilise these locations.
